In our consumerist world
we expect
even demand
"things"
to full-fill us.
We chase
dreams of
"nice" houses
"nice" cars
"nice" clothes...
But do
they
"do it"
for us? {more importantly: do they make us "nice"}
And
at what expense
to the poor
to nature
to our-selves?
We watch sports
but do not play them
We watch TV/computers/devices
but we don't part-i-cipate
We are spectators
"In societies where modern conditions of production prevail, all of life presents itself as an immense accumulation of spectacles. Everything that was directly lived has moved away into a representation."
-Guy Debord
