When Will Enough Be Enough?

We are almost pre-destined to be un-happy until we accumulate.

Give me more.

More is better.

Bigger is better.

[I must compete............I must be better than _________]

..............................THEN I will be "happy"

But this is the problem.

There is a way out.

There is an alternative.

But first we must recognize the problem and cause:

We live in a very macho society. Not only men, but woman have absorbed the ideas/lives of repression. When was the last time a man cried? Why would many rather be "tough" and trample another - physically, emotionally, economically, militarily, .... than to turn the other cheek - as Jesus commanded. To be willing to suffer for an-other - rather than to cause suffering - is this a lost virtue/goal?

Beauty, Taste, Health Benefits...A Woman?

While the plant pictured is like a "good woman"....you can have as many as you want...in fact, the more you have the better! [And not get "in trouble"..well unless you were rich and a "good" Jewish man during the bible times]

This amazing plant....not only is anti-viral, antiseptic, diaphoretic, cholagogue, hypotensive, anti-spasmotic... it is so easy to grow! It's a good indicator of the health of your soil also.

Destruction Will Terrify You

It seems ironic that Christians and others hear about the destruction of fellow humans and non-humans, yet continue to wipe them out. The quest [what the euphemism!] for gas/oil....has killed 2000000 Iraqis, 5000000 refugees....let alone nonhuman victims.

Now fracking is getting a lot of attention. More on this later. Everywhere from the Colbert Report to  The Nature Of Things have detailed emphasis on the exploitation of nature/humans by a some greedy companies. And while Canadians laud over their Americans to the south....Canadians have no minerals rights even if they own the land! So Mr. Corporation can walk on your property and plop his [sic] drill in the ground.

Spiders capture and suck the blood of weaker be-ings
Humans [especially those in wealthy nations] attack, kill and suck the blood of the poor and weaker ones

There are so many beneficial insects that will keep the "bad guys" in check - if - we allow them! By not using toxic pesticide and creating a more natural/nature-like environment, they will thrive. This rove beetle is a great predator that even kills cabbage maggots. Yum!

Spiders Save The Humans [Brain-Washed Dummies Refuse To Say Thanks]

Spiders, not only being fascinating little guys, save the human population from being over-taken by 'pests' and even dangerous insects. Here's one getting a large ant on my back screen door. So don't kill them! Keep them inside too to kill flies, fleas, ticks, and the odd mouse :):

Enough Is Enough - Old Canadians Are Selfish And Greedy!

Wow! Today chatting with another retired old person. Again I see - or they out rightly proclaim they don't care about pollution, human impact, or much else other than their time and goals. A 75 year old man telling me all that matters is his life. Wow!

He's not the first! I have found that almost all of these retired dudes, people just don't care [about other humans, their impact on air, water, etc....about nature - and we are nature].

As a result, the poor victim below - shrieks in pain. Along with the snake I just saw on a very private road - almost the same spot. Not to mention the countless frogs....

We have to change if anyone can survive. It is saddening and bizarre that today, people can still be insane - with the sanction of business, government, bosses, police....

Yet they all jump on the anti-environmentalist 'bandwagon'. What is an enviro...? So you don't like clean air? Clean water.....Oh, yea...make somebody else care and try to cause less suffering of all - and you crap on them - and reap the benefits - while going on selfishly fucking your fellow humans, animals, water, food, bugs, ....

So sorry....I forgot - all that matters is you, your 'en-joy-ment'....your consumer-ism!

Am I weird? Who is living in real-it-y? "sorry" I am not insane...bring back the mirror!

Amazing time of year...walking outside at night, the earth is moving...well the worms are pooping [sic] in and out of the soil....rustling the leaves....scurrying as they sense me coming! It sounds like the earth is moving....is alive....which are both true!

Jehovah Witnesses Cause Environmental Devastation Of Biblical Proportions

Isn't it ironic that religious people want to tell you to believe in God [or capitalism, Buddism, etc], yet ignore/destroy the world they believe their Creator made? Huh?

"Jehovah Witnesses" [are they really witnesses for Jehovah?] drive around [and a-round] seeking souls to save. Yet they violate the very creation of the God they say they worship. Polluting also violates humans  - as we are part of nature.

Here is picture to document their violation upon an attempt to convert moi. They never returned as I confronted them with their hypocrisy. Unfortunately, this victim wasn't seen till later. But would they/we care? We need to stop we viewing our-selves as separate from nature.

Yet the book they preach from, also condemns them [/us?]:

Tiger Beetles Are Faster Than YOU!

These incredible predators of the insect world help to keep "things" in balance. They are part of the largest animals group on earth: beetles - which comprise of over 300,000 species. Beetles eat many things from rotting corpses to flower petals.  Tiger beetles, as predators, keep grasshopper, caterpillar and other insect populations in check. They are also prey to dragonflies, frogs, bird and small animals.

These guys can run as fast as 2.5m/sec! That is equivalent to 100 times there body length/second. If you compare that to the fastest human sprinter who clocks in at about 6 times his body length/second - that's pretty impressive!

Tiger beetles can't maintain a constant internal body temperature so they raise their long legs to create a flow of air under themselves - cooling off their bodies. You'll find them on roads sometimes but they prefer leaves, forests and less disturbed areas. So if you have land - keep it "messy" - i.e. natural - that way nature can survive. And since humans are part of nature also, both humans and tiger beetles will have a future two-gether. They can live without us, but can we live without them?

Small Spaces Create "Big Food"

It is amazing how much food you can grow in a very small space. And if gather the heat and protect from the cold, the season can begin months earlier. In January, the temperatures inside the greenhouse were around 100F. See previous posts for more....

The Chinese Take Over Mexico!

You think you are finally free of "them"....then they appear even on remote islands in the Pacific Ocean! The Chinese have a saying: "wherever the sun sets, you will find the Chinese". For more on the Chinese, consult the specialist/comedian Russel Peters!

This is an outdoor kitchen at a small restaurant on Isla Holbox. Check out the "health standards"! A few seconds before the photo, a dog and bird were wandering around.

Note the China [espanol] trying to take over the kitchen, the chef's job, the restaurant, the island ..... Does even our restaurant food have to be made in China? :)

Wild Edible Plant Tastes Tropical

The first time trying the fruit of this plant, I was astonished with the amazing taste. It tasted like a mix of pineapple and mango. Not knowing if it was safe or not, I spit it out. And now, sadly, I never find any ripe fruits. This is the mayapple - a common forest plant in Southern Ontario.

Leaves Pooping Out Of The Ground

Spring is here! The wonder-ful beauty of leaves awaken and new life comes forth! En-joy the beauty! Flowers deserves our focus and time - but so do leaves.....

Along with beauty comes great healing from this plant.....comfrey.

War Is Not The Answer

At the end of the art crawl I went by a grocery store where the owner was throwing the dirty water onto the street. Like many Hamilton "convenience [read crap food]" stores, it was operated by a man from Iraq. We talked about the invasion of his country. He said things were generally fine until 2004 when the U.S. destroyed the country.

I asked if he was glad Sadam was dead. He said no. As long as you didn't do anything stupid and threaten Sadam, life was good. If you were bad, you paid for it.

He said before the American army invaded, it was safe. He said that stores would be looted here if the power went off. His store had been robbed here and the police were of no use.

We chatted about how oblivious Canadians and Americans are to the terror we sponsor. About 2000000 have died in Iraq. Many millions are refugees. How many think about this? Is cheap gas the only thing that matters? Are people so brain dead and obedient to some/any authority that they ignore justice, love, truth? Has convenience become our god? "Give me convenience or give me death" is chanted by our act-i-on-s!

Will we, who use more energy than any other country, will we ever stop being so greedy? When will we "sacrifice" so others may even live - both humans and nonhumans?!

This put a sober end to a night of mind-less cleave-age! What's up with that anyway? Have some women lost self-respect? While others starve/lose all - shouldn't we worry about this - and try to change our lives/the system that continues it vs. the obsession with boobies? An old sociology prof said they are just bags of fat and organs or something. But what does he know?!

Slutty Pizza: Easy, Fast and Yummy

Or you may call it the 123poopitout pizza or the poop pizza! Key ingredient is a legume that looks like poop!

Here's the secret recipe:
1 whole wheat or {gluten free alternative} pita, chapatti, etc.
Pepper/egglpant spread or could you tomato sauce
Onion
Garlic
Hot pepper
Cheese [or skip if vegan]
Cooked legume [poop imitators!]
Salt
Fresh cilantro/parsley or dill

1.Just spread the pepper spread on to pita.
2. Cut the onions/garlic into medium pieces and place on pita.
3. Shred or cut cheese thinly and place over most of pita.
4. Put "poops" on top.
5. Add a little salt and hot pepper.
6. Throw in toaster over or oven till cheese melts - about 3-5 minutes.
7. Put some cilantro, parsley etc. on it and dig in!

Oil And Everything Do Not Mix!

Let's be honest. Cars are not neutral. They/we kill.

Well many lie to them-selves that their lives are more important than others - human or non-human - we see more devastation as a result. The oil spill in Arkansas again says "stop it! Time to change, MF's!". But who will listen. Even if some only "care" about humans....how many die from war for resources - Iraq count at about 2,000,000 - not including 3-4,000,000 refugees! We should be ashamed and stop making demands for oil - and "sacrifice" so that others may live!

On a local level, this guy was crushed by some human who thinks his/her life is more important than other living be-ings.

The Land Is Mine

If Christians, Jews, Muslims took this text, which they consider sacred, seriously, we would have a mighty different planet. And yet the essence of capitalism/greed/religion is to take, own, devour the land. If the land isn't outrightly taken, it is exploited for resources. Only barbarians would do such a thing...but remember there isn't any oil in Iraq!

Mr. Coltsfoot Ushers Spring In

Here it is - the first flower in bloom! Not only beautiful, it is a marvelous plant: it flowers before it's leaves come out. It is also an amazing herb for many respiratory problems!

Ice Melts Draws ____ In

It won't be long....the ice - beautiful indeed -  has melted - sad and yet joy-fully. A glimpse of what is to come...

The Toad Asks "Spring Where Art Thou?"

Though the temperatures are well below average...with nights at -7! ...the greenhouse is toasty in the day reaching temps of 100 [not C!]....and this little fellow emerged 3 days ago! I'm sure he's buried underground at night though!

Sugar Free Pear Crisp

Ok, Ok....the rave of 123poopitout on facebook.....now the recipe:

Pears, as most fruits are very sweet. So sugar is not needed. Much healthier, as sugar is linked to many diseases. Most crisps are so sweet you don't even taste the fruit, oats or butter....just a sweet, gross taste. Once you bake without sugar/sweeteners you really "see" the difference. Try to use organic and local ingredients...

1. cut enough pears into medium sized pieces to fill a loaf pan 2/3

2. sprinkle some cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger or....

topping:

about 2 cups oats

1/2-3/4 cup butter [or oil, but butter is key!]

pinch of sea salt 

mix well together

put on pears, pressing gently with a fork to compact it

cook 350 for about 30 min. till pears are soft and top is browning

the most important part is to bring some over to me! :)
